Recovery from liposuction is fairly easy with expected downtime for 1 week following the procedure. It is important to wear a compressive garment regularly for the first few weeks after surgery to minimize swelling and ensure the best result possible. The discomfort is well managed with a combination of anti-inflammatory medication and prescribed pain medication. It is recommended to avoid exercising for 3-4 weeks after surgery to prevent avoidable complications such as bleeding, bruising, pain and problems healing.
