Facelift
Have you recently noticed that your face is aging with loose or sagging skin? Over time it is inevitable for everyone’s face to age and lose its youthful quality. Gradually our jaw lines become less defined and we begin forming jowls. That is part of life and it happens to everyone. If the changes ever begin to bother you, a facelift may be an option to turn back the clock. A facelift offers the most improvement with the longest lasting results.
There are a variety of different facelift options available depending on what areas are bothersome to you. Certain techniques are less invasive with shorter downtime but may be inadequate to address your specific concerns. Depending on your concerns a Facelift and Neck Lift may be necessary. Our goal for facelifts at Carolina Surgical Arts is to provide a natural, youthful and refreshed version of yourself. During your consultation we will discuss what bothers you most and determine which facelift technique best suits your concerns!
Goals:
- Define your Jaw line
- Improve Jowling and sagging skin
- Reduce wrinkles and smile lines
- Improve down turned corners of the mouth
Recovery:
Facelift procedures are often combined with other procedures such as a necklift, browlift, skin resurfacing and fat grafting. Depending on which procedures you have performed can change the recovery time. In general, a facelift alone requires approximately 7-10 days of downtime. It is recommended to avoid exercising for 2-3 weeks after surgery to prevent avoidable complications such as bleeding, bruising, pain and problems healing. Some patients may require a compressive dressing and drain temporarily, but most are removed within a few days of surgery.
